heading to NYC

August 12th, 2009

So, Tomorrow I am off to New York for 5 days.  I am really excited because I will be spending the first portion of the trip with my girlfriends in honor of my BFF’s upcoming nuptials.

(invite by Stephanie Sheldon, custom order soon through ROOM SERVICE)

…and the second portion of the trip will be attending the NY International Gift Show for work, which is always (in addition to utterly exhausting) totally exciting to see and order great products for my store.

While there, we will be partaking in some beauty treatments, lovely meals with friends, some ridiculously fun nights out and of course…shopping.

here are a few of the shops I am aiming to check out:

MADE IN THE 216 sneak peek! ODDBALL PRESS

June 20th, 2009

I know I have been a terribly unreliable blogger of late, but to say that I have been busy with my upcoming event, would be a staggering understatement.  It has all been worth it though as the show is really coming together.  It has been so long in planning that I have nearly forgotten all of the awesome items that are going to be available…that is until they all started showing up this week and I am even more excited now!

One such Cleveland-based designer involved is ODDBALL PRESS, which I LOVE and can’t believe that this show will mark the first time I am carrying them at ROOM SERVICE.

bringing in the spring

February 20th, 2009

Over at ROOM SERVICE headquarters I am slowly transitioning the store into spring.  Most of the new spring merchandise will not be in for another 3-4 weeks or so, but the transformation is under way…none of the new spring displays are done or even completely figured out yet! (best part of having no boss!!)  but I have been playing around a bit and here is the first stage of one new display….SPRING BIRDS!!  I have an element to add to the branches yet to suggest green budding and then will decoupage a few more birds up…but this is the first round:

lovebirds

February 13th, 2009

image found on this etsy site.

So in my current living situation I am not able to get any pets, dogs or cats, both of which i long for, but alas, not at this time…

HOWEVER!!! There is something I CAN do. I have been thinking about getting two little lovebirds to keep me company at the shop and am finally going to do it!  Isn’t that exciting!!!  I am still researching this now, but should have them at their new home, ROOM SERVICE, within a few weeks!

I already have a long list of potential names for them, all French names, of course, but it will have to wait until I meet them and get a sense of their personality before I commit to any just yet.

I will keep you posted and of course be sure to post pictures of the little lovebirds immediately upon bringing them home.

I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
